STEPS OF
DHI METHOD

Hair transplantation Methods

The DHI method

The DHI method is a direct hair transplantation (Direct Hair Implant), which is new on the market. In the DHI method, no canals are opened, as in the Sapphire FUE method.

Direct implantation of the hair root allows for a higher number of hair per square centimeter, thus achieving a better result. This method can be used in hair transplantation as well as beard, mustache and eyebrow transplantation.

The DHI method and micro technique for hair transplantation

The DHI method is not a strip of scalp that is removed or a permanent scar like the old FUT method, but it is an outpatient and minimally invasive surgical procedure. There is neither a removal of tissue nor a suture.

The DHI technique is characterized by the special way of obtaining the follicular units to be transplanted. This is done with the help of punching or drilling devices (manual or motorized) during which the hair follicles are extracted one by one. It is an advanced technique that minimizes scars and postoperative problems.

Unlike the Sapphire FUE technique, this technique uses pins into which the grafts are inserted. With the new DHI technique, it is possible to create more hair roots on a smaller area because no channels are opened. Thus, a higher density is achieved. The work is much finer and more gentle. Due to the fact that no canals are opened with the DHI method, a maximum acceleration of wound healing is achieved and inflammation and thus graft losses are prevented.

Approximately 8 of these pins are used per treatment, into which the hair roots are inserted one by one and can therefore be implanted directly without a canal opening. This is done by the doctor and 2 to 3 assistants who insert the hair roots into the pins. Only experienced doctors use the DHI method.

The advantages of the DHI method are:

    • Increased growth rate
    • A very high hair density, up to 30% higher than Sapphire FUE
    • Faster wound healing compared to Sapphire FUE
  •

The disadvantages of the DHI method are:

    • However, since this method takes a lot of time, it is possible to work with only 3000-4000 grafts.
    • Also it is in a higher price range compared to the Sapphire FUE method.
